Growing notes
Dusty miller is commonly planted in Central Texas for cool-season color and can handle some drought. Wet soil is the main thing to avoid.
Preparing the bed for dusty miller
Central Texas ground is often heavy clay or thin soil over limestone. Blend topsoil into heavy clay to improve drainage. Top the finished bed with 2–3 inches of mulch, kept a few inches off the stems, to hold moisture through summer.
